Holy Trinity parish was founded on August 28, 1897, when the first Divine Liturgy was served in Butte. Thirty-five families, all from the southern regions of the former Yugoslavia, gathered around a visiting Orthodox missionary priest, committed to establishing a parish and building a permanent Orthodox Church. In 1905, their dream, through prayers and self-sacrificial love, turned into a reality. This first church edifice stood until 1964 when it was demolished due to the structural damage caused by underground mining. The construction of the new church was finished in 1965 with the consecration date on July 25. Today, our vibrant Orthodox community has members with various ethnic backgrounds, Serbian, Greek, Irish, Scottish, German, etc. Holy Trinity parish is pan-Orthodox and welcomes everyone seeking the fullness of the Christian faith revealed by Jesus Christ, confirmed by Holy Scripture, preached by the Apostles, and lived victoriously throughout the centuries by countless holy women, men, and children.

We encourage you to visit our vibrant and growing parish.  May our Loving Lord be your guide, protection, and salvation!

3rd Annual Serb Fest
3rd Annual Serb Fest!!

Sat. Aug. 6, 2022, is set for our third Serb Fest celebration of food, music and fun for a day to highlight our parish and founding culture here in Butte over 100 years ago.

Homemade Serbian food and drink will be available from 11am to 9 pm, with some extra desserts and drinks to tickle the palate while listening to and watching the dancers and music under a large shade tent in the parking lot. Lamb will come from the ovens, pork from the BBQ, chevops from the grill, and kielbasa from the stove to provide tasty protein, with Serbian potato salad or green salad on the side, and various other dishes, not to mention sweets and specialties like Serbian iced coffee. Take-out will be provided upon request.

Church tours will be conducted every two hours, between dance performances, to highlight the Christian iconography that grace the walls and ceiling of our temple, in commemoration of the life and miracles of Jesus Christ and many of His Saints. Tours will also include a sample of Church hymnography that compliments our Sunday Divine Services.

A Bookstore/Butte merchandise booth and a kiddies' activity tent will round out the activities available during this day of community visiting and relaxation. Come for lunch and stay for dinner. Raffle winners will be announced in the evening hours, including the two lucky ticket-holders from the parish's Wine Raffle for 25 bottles of wine from the May 14th Wine Tasting.
